About the role
This is a unique role reporting into the CFO that is focused on developing financial management tools for the Web3 world. These tools include wallet management, portfolio and treasury management and new accounting and payment systems. This is a very high visibility and high impact role within Consensys.
As a product manager at ConsenSys, you will define the vision, strategy and roadmap for our products. Your days may include performing user research, working with other product managers, defining problems, validating hypotheses, designing user journeys, writing requirements documents, developing low and high fidelity prototypes, delivering MVPs, iterating products, coordinating go to market activities, and improving user experience. Your role will be working closely with the CFO to shape strategy and develop analysis on existing hypotheses and prospective activities. Importantly, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, analysts, data scientists, and UX researchers to design and deliver outstanding products, with Consensys’ own Finance organization being your first-best customer, building the Finance Function of the Future.
You will grow and lead the work of a cross functional team to be user focused, discovery led, and data driven as the Finance Function’s advocate. As well as shape and define standards for building great products, educate our product teams, and hold the bar across the company. Part of this will be driving our software product development from concept to launch: facilitating user research or experiments to validate hypotheses; aligning stakeholders on a shared vision tied to larger strategy; using metrics and feedback to drive development; inspiring cross-functional teams of analysts, designers, engineers, and marketers to address user problems; and shipping great user experiences.
Externally, you will drive the adoption of crypto-first product features, and work closely with various teams across the DeFi and Web3 ecosystem. This will also involve researching user problems, staying ahead of market developments in the crypto space, and building relationships with key partners.
About the Finance organization
The Finance function of Consensys under the leadership of the CFO includes teams covering Accounting & Tax, Finance Planning & Analysis, Treasury and Financial Operations. Together, they support and enable the company through maintaining the financial systems, processes and controls and providing analytical and decision support for the company strategy and growth.
What it would take to succeed in this role
- 3-5+ years of supporting software product development lifecycle.
- Highly analytical with methodical prioritization and strong problem solving skills.
- Data-driven, user-focused, discovery-minded.
- Technical proficiency and experience with APIs.
- Passion for decentralized finance and the ConsenSys mission; interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software including Oracle Netsuite, SAP, Workday Financials, Quickbooks, Sage, Xero or others
- Familiarity with processes (e.g. Agile, Scrum), and tools (e.g. JIRA, Notion, Figma, GitHub, MixPanel).
- Excellent communication, relationship management and organizational skills.
- Entrepreneurial with a growth mindset; independently driven, constantly learning, always improving.
- Team player, inclusive leader, open to feedback, and transparent with intentions.
- Experience with blockchain, Ethereum, web3, DeFi, payments, social, or consumer products.
- Previous experience in remote or globally distributed teams
