New York, NY, May 10, 2021  —  Consensys is strengthening the capabilities of their blockchain solutions by collaborating with Microsoft. As blockchain technology adoption accelerates, with more businesses expanding their online presence to include payments and financial transactions, blockchain adoption in the enterprise is growing. According to Gartner Inc.’s Avivah Litan, “Blockchain production use cases are predicted to keep growing by double digit percentages in 2021,” due to, “the maturation of crypto currencies and Central Bank Digital Currencies, complex supply chains driven by social & environmental goals and blockchain middleware abstraction layers.”

In order to prepare for these market trends, Consensys is working with Microsoft to offer an Ethereum-based managed blockchain service to their Azure customers. Both companies are working together to offer a service based on Consensys Quorum, an open-source protocol layer for developing with Ethereum. Consensys’ collaboration with Microsoft is designed to offer customers and business partners an easy path to building multi-cloud blockchain services with additional permissions to ensure transaction privacy. The service will offer users the ability to easily set-up flexible blockchain nodes, thereby reducing the cost of enterprise blockchain deployment and developer programming time.

“Expanding our relationship with Microsoft helps organizations take advantage of Consensys Quorum and Quorum customer support to offer users an enterprise-grade managed blockchain service that can be effortlessly set-up and deployed,” said Joseph Lubin, founder & CEO of Consensys.  “We are excited to bring the awarding-winning Quorum product to Azure users as the next step in our collaboration with Microsoft.”

“By working closely with Consensys, we will be able to provide our customers with an easy way to deploy and manage their blockchain pilots and production use cases running on Microsoft Azure,” notes Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure. “This collaboration is designed to take the complexity out of managing the infrastructure (hardware & software) that is necessary to run enterprise blockchains.”
